Who needs to enroll in South Carolina Medicaid?
Any provider who would like to receive Medicaid reimbursement for services rendered to Medicaid recipients. This includes rendering and billing providers, groups, and facilities.
How do I enroll?
Providers can review enrollment information and an instruction video by visiting the South Carolina Medicaid website: https://www.scdhhs.gov/PROVIDER. To complete the registration process, select Online Enrollment Application from the Provider Quick Links, then select Begin a New Enrollment.
What are some of the provider screening and enrollment guidelines?
- Per the Healthy Connections FAQs posted December 2021, the enrollment of ordering/referring providers is required
- Be licensed by the appropriate licensing body, certified by the standard-setting agency, and/or other pre-contractual approval processes established by South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS)
- Continuously meet South Carolina licensure and/or certification requirements of their respective professions or boards in order to maintain Medicaid enrollment
- Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations currently in effect as well as all policies, procedures, and standards required by the Medicaid program
- If eligible, obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and share it with South Carolina Medicaid - refer to https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov for additional information about obtaining an NPI
- Be enrolled in the South Carolina Medicaid program and receive official notification of enrollment
How do I check the status of my enrollment?
To track the status of your enrollment, you may contact the Provider Service Center (PSC) (888) 289-0709, option 4 for Provider Enrollment. Please have your Reference ID number available.
